Greenwood once sang, “and I’m proud to be an American, Where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died, Who gave that right to me.” I am a proud American. I am also a world traveler, I can honestly say I am proud to be an American. As I have traveled to many countries, there are not as many privileges and freedoms as we have in America.
Growing up in the south, my parents were strong republicans. I was raised to be a republican. What does that mean? Being a proud republican to me means. A hardworking citizen, that is educated and a homeowner. I’ve worked hard my entire life to put myself through school so I could be a responsible American. As I got older, I wanted to own a home, so I worked on getting my down payment and making sure I had enough money to pay my bills. Through blood, sweat, and tears, I became an independent woman in an ever-changing world.
Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Trusting a neighbor on a handshake is still how I live my life. If I say I’m going to do something, I do it. I am a full-time RVer so I have many neighbors. The RV community is very welcoming. Our RV neighbors become my road family. I would do anything for those that part next to me. We have a trusting, close community.
During this pandemic, the world has gone through some crazy times. Between the COVID-19, racism, and rioting, this world is a scary place. As a republican, I support the police and follow the laws. We need police to keep our cities safe. These times of change and turbulence shows we need support from police to promote order and sanity.
Living my life without judgment of others, showing compassion and love regardless of other’s views is how I live each day. I have also eliminated negativity and toxic people in my life. This creates balance and harmony in my life. I am at peace with my mind, following kindness and love to others.
While my time on this earth has been short, I plan to continue to live the American dream. Giving me and my family a chance to be prosperous and successful. From a young age, my father stilled a hard-working mindset in me. I have made many sacrifices and took many risks to where I am today. I am a gun-toting, republican and I am proud to be an American.
Until the day I die, I will continue to fly the flag, and support my neighbors, follow the rules, live the American dream as a Proud American. I am proud to be an American. I will support the red, white, and blue, be a good citizen and help others in need, regardless of their political views, color of their skin, or beliefs.
