ILA | Delaware: Gun Control Legislation Scheduled for House Committee Hearing on Wednesday

On Wednesday, at 1:00pm in the House Majority Hearing Room, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider gun control legislation, House Bill 63.  If you are able, please attend this hearing in opposition to this gun control legislation. Also, please contact committee members and urge them to OPPOSE House Bill 63.

House Bill 63 amends the current law on access to firearms to create a blanket prohibition from having a firearm unsecured and unavailable for use if it is potentially accessible by a minor or prohibited person. This mandatory storage law would do nothing more than render firearms useless in self-defense situations.  Criminals love this bill as it tips the scales in their favor in self-defense situations.  Further, this legislation seeks to place the blame on law-abiding gun owners for the potential criminal actions of others.

Again, please attend this hearing in opposition to this anti-gun legislation if you are able. Also, please contact members of the House Judiciary Committee and strongly urge them to OPPOSE House Bill 63.
