Haley: Trump in Courtrooms, Not Fighting for Americans

Former President Donald Trump is spending so much time in courtrooms that he’s “not fighting for the American people,” said former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

“He has not once talked about the fact he put us $8 trillion in debt in four years, and our kids are never going to forgive him for it. He’s not talked about what he’s going to do to stop the flow of fentanyl and secure our border once and for all, because we’ve got to get that done,” Haley said Saturday during a campaign rally in Mauldin, South Carolina, which aired live on Newsmax and simulcast on the Newsmax2 online streaming platform.

“He hasn’t talked about how we’re going to get our kids reading again, how he’s going to bring law and order back to this country. He hasn’t talked about how he’s going to deal with any of the wars that are happening.

“And you know who sees that? Russia, China, Iran. That’s why I’m worried. That’s the problem I have,” she added.

A jury on Friday said Trump, who is now entangled in multiple criminal and civil cases, should pay $83.3 million in damages for defamatory statements he made denying he sexually assaulted the writer E. Jean Carroll.

Haley on Saturday said she has one by one “dismissed the fellas,” including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Trump, she said, has been throwing temper tantrums and talking about revenge following the GOP primary results in New Hampshire where he beat her, 54.3% to 43.2%.

But no matter what he thinks, “he can’t bully his way to the White House; it’s not going to work,” she said.

Haley on Saturday also questioned Trump’s mental fitness, citing his recent gaffe where he appeared to confuse Haley for former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a speech last week in New Hampshire.

“He was giving a speech, and in his speech he went on over and over again about how I stopped security from going to the Capitol on Jan. 6. And he kept repeating it,” she said.

“I think he’s confused.

“He said he would take a mental competency test and that he would beat me. If he said that, he should have no problem getting on a debate stage with me, because that’s the ultimate mental competency test.”
